The Ninja, among their many talents, are masters of Codes and Cryptography. Here is an example of a Basic Substitution Code. Letters are transposed to stand for other letters but the length of the words and punctuation are preserved. Have a go! And see if your mental skills are up to Ninja standards.
Feudal Japanese ninja cryptography and covert communication methods were often referred to as shinobi iroha (忍びいろは). These codes were specialized, often mission-specific, designed to securely transmit information and evade detection. These techniques, which involved coded kanji, substituted characters, and hidden messages, were integral to Ninjitsu (the art of stealth).
